Festival Season Guide: Staying Safe, Legal, and Well-Stocked This Summer

Festival Season Guide

Summer is here and so is festival season. It’s time to get your wellies ready, apply sunscreen, and (fingers crossed) organise your playlist for the journey. Now before you head off to dance in the field for a weekend, it’s worth getting to know the strains that suit the season best. From bright, energetic sativas to balanced hybrids and smooth evening indicas, our UK cannabis strains range gives you plenty to explore before you pack your stash. So whether you’re the hippie, the party animal, or somewhere in between, there’s a strain to match your festival mood.

Why Sativa Is the Ultimate Festival Strain

Sativas are designed for daylight hours, dancing in an open field and standing for long periods of time; they’re perfect for an energetic, social day. Think about it: you won’t be sitting on the couch watching TV; you’ll be running between stages, talking to people in line at the bar, and getting as much sunlight as you possibly can. An indica would knock you flat in your tent by 3 PM — that’s great for a rainy Sunday at home; however, it’s not exactly what you want for a headline act at 9. Save your indicas for the last night in your tent and keep the sativas as your daytime festival mate.

Whatever your plans for summer are, making sure you have a sativa-rich stash and some forethought will help you enjoy every minute of it.

Ground Rules — What You Need to Know Before Packing

Here are a few basic practices that will greatly reduce any potential stressors during your festival experience:

  • Review the individual festival policy – each event sets its own rules on what is allowed into the festival, and these rules may change from year to year.
  • Store products in their original packaging – doing so helps identify product ID, dose amount and content when needed to present it to authorities/security.
  • Only bring enough for personal consumption – no matter how tempting it might seem to pass items along to others, all festivals have a zero-tolerance policy for any item that looks like it could be used for distribution!
  • Stay hydrated and eat regularly – heat exhaustion/desertion and fatigue will affect you quicker than you realize, especially after spending most of the day dancing/standing/walking/etc. So please try to pace yourself and stay hydrated!
  • Don’t give cannabis to minors – every festival is attended by people of varying ages, so please be aware that sharing cannabis with someone under age is completely unacceptable and will result in removal from the premises.
  • Plan for storing your products – using a smell-proof bag and keeping them cool/dry in your tent will ensure that they remain usable throughout the entire duration of the event.
